Northwest BC
M’akola Housing Society offers affordable housing in the Northwest of BC with multiple sites in Prince Rupert and Terrace that provide safe, affordable housing for individuals, couples, Elders, and families. M’akola has townhomes, apartments, and single-family dwellings from Prince Rupert to Terrace and in the surrounding communities. We have two regional offices to help serve our tenants and applicants.
Our Housing
Each home has eligibility criteria including household size, income, and family ancestry. In the Northwest M’akola owns and operates M’akola Rent Geared to Income (MRGI) and M’akola Low End of Market (MLEM) homes.
Some homes require applicants to identify as Indigenous, which means families must have at least one household member that self identifies as Indigenous. As an Indigenous housing provider, preference is given to Indigenous applicants for buildings that don’t require applicants to identify as Indigenous. To learn more about what housing you may be eligible for visit our applicants page.
